Scholars spend the first week at PUC with classes and activities, interacting with local experts in preparation for their experience in Alto Patache. Students will also participate in local cultural activities.
The group travels to Iquique and spends one day there, settling in and preparing for the fieldwork ahead.
Scholars travel to Alto Patache and remain there 5 days for immersive classes and activities, including a final day of debriefing and reflection before heading back to Santiago.
After returning from Alto Patache, scholars stay in Santiago for cultural activities and continued presentation work until they depart from Santiago. In between, scholars will visit the Global Field Station in Las Cruces for a day, to explore coastal marine ecology, sustainable management, and conservation.
