Eligibility Requirements


  • Be a rising 11th or 12th grade student (or homeschooled equivalent)

  • Have a GPA of 3.2 or higher.

  • Be 16-18 years of age at the start of the program.

  • Obtain B-1 Spanish proficiency level in the CEFR or an Intermediate High level in the ACTFL scale at the PUC Chile’s Spanish language proficiency assessment, conducted directly by PUC Chile after your initial acceptance to the program.

  • Submit a teacher recommendation, preferably a science teacher.

  • Valid passport required for all participants. Non-U.S. passport holders are responsible for verifying visa requirements..

  • Complete the 2026 Global Field Study Scholar application.

  • Ability to participate in outdoor field research, which may include hiking on uneven terrain and exposure to varying weather conditions.
